2018 Mount Dora Heroes Foundation Paw Parade - 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The Paw Parade starts at the corner of Sunset Park and Alexander Street, featuring all the plentiful pooches in a fun parade. 


Light Up Mount Dora – 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Pre-show starts at 4:30pm with the switch to all the lights being turned on at 6:30 p.m.  All at Donnelly Park.   Music playing and a visit from Santa at the end!


2017 Annual Mount Dora Christmas Walk – 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Free admission to a family friendly street party in downtown Mount Dora featuring live music, dancing, shopping and Santa.  8:45 p.m. Fireworks at the 4th Avenue Docks.

57th Annual Christmas Parade – 10 a.m.

Christmas parade in the streets of downtown Mount Dora at 10:00 a.m.

25th Christmas Lighted Boat Parade – 7 p.m.

Parade begins on Lake Dora, at the Lighthouse on Grantham Point, across from Gilbert Park on Tremain Street and Liberty Avenue, Downtown Mount Dora. Local boat owners compete for best in light show display and originality.

Christmas Tour of Homes

Tour Mount Dora homes that are beautifully decorated for the holidays. This is a self-driving tour to the various homes. Cost is $20 online. Sat. 11 am - 4 pm and Sun. 11 am - 4 pm. For information and tickets, visit the Women’s Committee of Fine Arts of Mount Dora.

Santa’s Switchboard – 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Parks and Recreation Department is hosting our annual Santa’s Switchboard on December 5th and 6th from 5:30-8 pm. We are looking for volunteer gentleman for Santa’s as well as ladies or gentlemen for our switchboard operators. If you are interested please contact (352) 516-2731. Thanks so much.

Santa Tour with Mount Dora Public Safety – 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Mount Dora Police and Fire tour neighborhoods in the city using golf carts, PD vehicles, the Bearcat and a Firetruck, towing Santa in a Sleigh to meet kids, give out candy, stuffed animals and dog treats.  The tour starts downtown the first night with Santa stopping at Donnelly Park for a meet and greet.  It’s a tradition that grew from 1 day to 3!

Spirited Irish Dancers perform to Christmas classic songs at the Community Building.

Victorian Christmas Tea at W.T. Bland Public Library 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

You are cordially invited to join us for our Victorian Christmas Tea. Celebrate a Victorian Christmas, Queen Victoria's influence on how we celebrate Christmas - The Day of Days - and refreshments of the period. Guests are encouraged to wear their most elegant Victorian fineries.

MDPD Northeast Community Christmas Party 9 a.m. - Noon

Come Celebrate & have Fun at the MDPD Annual Northeast Community Christmas Party on Saturday, December 9, 2017, from 9am - 12pm, at the Martin Luther King Center located on 803 Florida Ave.  Wll have obstacle course game, bounce house, music, and food.  Come meet Santa Claus!

Holiday Concert at the Community Building 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Lake Concert Band under the direction of John Landers free holiday concert.  This is a donation based concert with all proceeds being donated to the Lake Cares Pantry.  Make Donations at the door.


Gingerbread House Decorating at the W.T. Bland Public Library 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Pre-purchased ticket required. Tickets available at the circulation desk beginning Friday, December 1st. Recommended $6.00 donation to cover cost of materials. Just bring your creativity! All ages welcome. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.


Shop With a Cop at Target – 8 a.m. to noon

The Mount Dora Police Department and Target of Mount Dora presents our annual "Shop with a Cop" event. Police Officers from the MDPD will take 30 pre-selected students from our three local schools to Target in Mount Dora. The students will get a one-on-one shopping experience with a Police Officer. Students will receive a $100 gift card that they could use to buy clothing, shoes, or toys. The students and their families will also receive a Christmas Basket donated by Lake Cares Food Pantry. "Shop with a Cop" is a program supported by the generosity of Mount Dora local citizens and businesses.
