  1. An Evening of Sir Paul starring John Babcock

    The Mount Dora Library Assn. Is proud to present “An Evening of Sir Paul starring John Babcock” May 26,2018 at 7:30PM in the Mount Dora Community Building 520 North Baker St. in Mount Dora. This specially designed show features the music of Sir Paul McCartney performed by one of the best musical artists in Florida. John Babcock has portrayed Paul McCartney for years as part of Beatle Beat the Beatle Tribute Band, and is now presenting the public and his fans something new. Tickets are on sale at the Mount Dora Library Associations'' Website www.mountdoralibraryassn.com or by calling the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce at: 352-383-2165. All monies raised go to fund the Mount Dora Public Library and its programs.

    New to the ukulele? Interested in jamming with other adults? Learn and play together in our new ukulele class for adults and explore chords, strumming techniques, and learn easy songs. Please bring your own ukulele to class. Teens and tweens are also welcome. Ukulele class meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM (in the Library) and on the fourth Saturday of the month at 10:00 AM (at the Simpson Farmhouse). This class is free, with no registration required.

    Learn how to use WordPress at your Library in a three-class series (register once and attend all three classes). Introduction to WordPress Setting Up Your WordPress Site Launching Your WordPress Site Registration is required. Register once and your space is reserved for all three classes. Students may use our desktop PCs in the Technology Lab or bring their own laptop. The instructor has over a decade of experience working with businesses around the world as a writer, social media expert and graphic designer. She specializes in WordPress sites and online marketing.

    W.T. Bland Public Library has teamed up with Second Harvest food Bank's "Meals for Good" program to provide fresh lunches for kids during summer break. Meals will be served Monday through Friday, starting Tuesday, May 29 and until Friday, August 10. Children ages 18 and under are eligible for free lunch; there are no forms to complete and no restrictions or registration - just free lunch on the library grounds. Lunches may not be taken off-site. Children must be in line by 12:00 PM. Lunches will be served in the children's program room. Healthy, fresh and nutritious lunches are prepared from scratch, thanks to the generosity of Second Harvest Food Bank and the Nemours Foundation.
