New LED Bulbs in Downtown Street Lights

The City of Mount Dora’s Electric Utility Department recently initiated a pilot project to install new LED bulbs in existing street lights downtown.

The pilot project includes the existing, antique-style street lights located on 5th Avenue between Alexander and Baker Streets, plus the existing street lights in Donnelly Park.

The new LED bulbs produce more light than the previous LED fixtures and are expected to last over ten (10) years. The new LED bulbs consume much less electricity then the older, high-pressure sodium bulbs that were originally installed. If the pilot project is successful, the Electric Utility plans on upgrading all of the older antique-style street lights to LED bulbs.

Please see the attached photographs of the new LED bulbs.
