  1. Ukulele

    October 27, 2018, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Simpson Farm House

    New to the ukulele? Interested in jamming with other adults? Learn and play together in our new ukulele class for adults and explore chords, strumming techniques, and learn easy songs. Please bring your own ukulele to class. Teens and tweens are also welcome. Ukulele class meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM (in the Library) and on the fourth Saturday of the month at 10:00 AM (at the Simpson Farmhouse). This class is free, with no registration required.

  2. Special Effects Demonstration

    W.T. Bland Public Library Community Room Please join us for a Special Effects Demonstration by VAMP, the Vocational Academy of Makeup and Prosthetics, followed by a special screening of George A. Romero's 1968 classic film Night of the Living Dead. About VAMP: The Vocational Academy of Makeup and Prosthetics (VAMP) is a professional makeup training school located in Orlando, Florida. We seek to provide our students with a modern education in the field of professional makeup artistry. We offer comprehensive courses teaching both special makeup effects as well as beauty makeup. VAMP is also home to one of metro Orlando’s most comprehensive makeup effects store, The Vamporium. Our school and store provide our students and customers with the most current methods and products in the industry. We will provide customers with the products and education they need to become a professional makeup artist. Popcorn and refreshments will be served during the movie.

Library - Youth Calendar

  1. Howl-O-Ween Parade with PAWS Therapy Dogs

    October 27, 2018, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Children's Program Room

    Children ages 12 & under are invited to wear their favorite costumes to the library for a parade throughout our Butterfly Garden and the Library, joined by PAWS therapy dogs who will also be in costume! Afterward, children are invited to read stories to PAWS therapy dogs and enjoy free treats and a free children's book. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library Please like us on Facebook!

  2. PAWS Reading Dogs

    Licensed therapy dogs visit the library each month for children to read them a story. This program is open to children of all ages.
