Annual event in which artists register and paint/draw scenes depicting Mount Dora’s landscape and architecture. Final entries are judged and prizes are awarded at exhibit’s opening reception. This year’s featured Plein Air artist is Beth Pendleton. Opening reception: November 9th, 2018 6-8 PM.

Adults, teens and tweens are invited to a free screening of the Emmy-nominated directory, Silver Wings, Flying Dreams: The Complete Story of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP). Meet filmmaker Bill Suchy and learn the true story of the first women to pilot American military aircraft. Without the service of these female American heroes we may not have won WWII. The film won the National Silver Telly Award, premiered on PBS and is now in world-wide television and educational distribution. Filmmaker Bill Suchy will introduce the film and host a Q&A session directly following the screening. No registration is required. Sponsored by the Mount Dora Library Association.
