Coyotes are found throughout Florida and have been documented in all 67 counties. This medium-sized canid is extremely adaptable and can be found in rural, suburban and even urban landscapes. They are typically shy and elusive but encounters between people and coyotes in Florida are occurring more often. The City of Mount Dora and Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission want our residents to be informed and educated about coyote activities, habits and safety for your home and neighborhood.
Catherine Kennedy, Biological Scientist with FWC, will be hosting the educational workshop and we encourage as many people as possible to attend. There will be handouts and literature for everyone to take back to your home or business. After the presentation, there will be time for a Question and Answer session.
All are welcome; no registration required.
